The Bolivian boliviano (Bs) is the official currency of Bolivia, divided into 100 centavos. Banknotes are available in 10, 20, 50, 100, and 200 denominations, while coins come in 1, 2, 5 bolivianos and 10, 20, 50 centavos. First introduced in 1864, the current version replaced the old currency in 1987 after hyperinflation at a rate of 1,000,000 old bolivianos to 1 new boliviano. Despite being temporary, some 1987 banknotes are still in circulation today.
